Sometimes the day just brings you a great surprise. I am a member of a  local birding group on Facebook. Everyone was posting their pictures of the male Rose-breasted Grosbeak. I have never seen one,  so I went and googled how to attract them to my feeder. I got up and went to the window and there he was on the feeder! I was so excited I nearly tripped getting my camera. So, they came and fed, and I watched and watched. I wondered why I have never seen them before. I don't know the answer to that but I do know they migrate north. I was never able to spot a female.
I've watched the feeders on and off all day today, but I think they have traveled to northern Ohio and Michigan. I hope they stop by on the migration south this winter, I will be watching for them :)
