By the time I finished this painting, the hyacinth had fallen over and so did I. So many different values and abstract shapes. Bright morning sunlight, east window.
This is another rose from http://www.oberers.com/ I placed it in the east sunlight, and it seemed to glow. I pushed the reflected lights as far as I could, and deliberately painted the leaves with soft edges to keep the rose itself the center of attention. "Love Conquers All" It is the Valentine's Day theme day at the Daily Painters Gallery. I've had the idea for this painting for awhile, the little pumpkin and gourde were sunbathing at a farm stand. It looked to me like the goose neck gourde was watching over the little pumpkin. Oh, silly me.....they are after all, just vegetables.....
